Born in Limehouse, London; 1933. Decided to become a painter at the age of nine. Entered Southend College of Art & Leicester at the age of thirteen. Entered Leicester College of Art at eighteen. Sent down from various colleges for being naughty . Degree form UC Cardiff. Taught at UC Cardiff; Vaughan College; Leicester; South Glam Inst of HE; Cardiff College of Art. Exhibited Tate Gallery (outside) 1952 (received 5/- from Sir John Rothenstein, Gallery Director). Sold first paintings 1952 (Burlington gallery). Exhibited with Marc Chagall, Ben Shahn, Sir Jacob Epstein 1953, Stopped painting full-time for medical reasons, 1955. Left full-time lectureships 1984. Resumed full-time painting 1985. Silk screen print in Tate Gallery (inside) 1987. Past sponsors since 1987 include: The Welsh Arts Council; Macdonald's; TSW. 1988: Revisited Pembrokeshire for first time in over twenty years (painted first picture in the county). 1990: Opened studio and gallery to present location in Saint Davids. 1995: Picture in the Royal Collection; Major commission from Tenby Museum and Art Gallery. 1996: Produced 153rd Limited Edition of Edition of Pembrokeshire
